Ray Bolger
Ray Bolger is an American Actor and stage performer from Boston. His real name might not be so familiar to the common viewer of film and media, but the one film that is sure to be remembered for his role is that of the Wizard of Oz: Ray played the Scarecrow!
Before there was the Wizard of Oz, Bolger’s craft was perfected on Broadway/ The list of his roles can go on and on, but some credits included Life Begins at 8:40, On Your Toes, By Jupiter, All American, and Where’s Charley?. Where’s Charley won him a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. He is also known for hosting and starring in his own variety show, called The Ray Bolger Show. He also starred in Walt Disney’s 1961 remake of Babes in Toyland. He is also an ordained minister from the Universal Life Church.
