Blake Griffin
Blake Griffin is an American professional basketball player best known for his explosive athleticism as the star power forward of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers. As a collegiate athlete, Blake played for the Oklahoma Sooners and became one of their most decorated and highest rated players of all time. Blake Griffin was always an exceptional athlete and it was evident from his early years. During his professional career he played 14 years for the NBA and was known for highlight dunks from alley-oops, his great passing, and later developing an outstanding three point jump shot.
Before he made the decision to focus on his pursuit of basketball, Blake enjoyed playing baseball as well as football. In high school Blake attended Oklahoma Christian School where he played basketball for his father, head Coach Tommy Griffin, winning four back to back state championships. Blake was named the Player of the Year by two major state publications, put on several all star teams, and awarded many other accolades for his role in claiming those state titles.
He played college basketball as a Oklahoma Sooner for only two years, where his talent shined so brightly he was able to go directly to the NBA draft. Not only that, but he was an overall number one draft pick for the Clippers! His rookie year found him sweeping all the monthly Western conference rookie awards, being selected to play in the all star game, unanimously being voted rookie of the year, as well as being named by Sports Illustrated as one of the 15 top draft picks of all time!!!
Since announcing his retirement from professional basketball in 2024, he has branched out to other personal pursuits such as getting ordained with the Universal Life Church as minister. We wish him the very best in all he plans to do with his ordination in the future.
