John Cena
John Felix Anthony Cena is an American actor, and professional wrestler, whose successful stint in the WWE has earned him the regard as one of the greatest American wrestlers of all time. Born in Massachusetts, John Cena graduated from Springfield College in 1999 toting a degree in exercise physiology and body movement. After graduating, he moved to California in pursuit of a career as a bodybuilder. Cena admired and idolized Terry Bollea, better known by his ring name Hulk Hogan, and was inspired by the famous wrestler to pursue his own career in professional wrestling. He began training for a wrestling career in 1999 at Ultimate Pro Wrestling’s (UPW) Ultimate University. He created the persona of the semi-robotic character known as The Prototype when he was first introduced to an in-ring role. He wrestled for UPW until March 2001, winning the UPW Heavyweight Championship on April 27, 2000. He made his official WWE television debut on an episode of Smackdown! in June 2002, launching the most well-known leg of his wrestling career and becoming a fan favorite as “The Doctor of Thugonamics”. He’s 16-time WWE World Champion, and also holds the record for Make-A-Wish Foundation having granted the most wishes, at over 650 to date. After accomplishing huge success in the world of wrestling, he transitioned to acting, making appearances in notable films such as, Trainwreck, Daddy’s Home, Ferdinand, and most recently appearing in F9: The Fast Saga, The Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker. He has received multiple nominations in recognition of his unique comedic style such as the MTV Movie Nomination for Best Comedic Performance in Peacemaker. As an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church, he officiated a wedding on an episode of the Today show, live, in 2018. A lucky couple was chosen by the show and gifted a romantic Italian honeymoon by the wrestler and officiant.
