Michael Newdow

Michael Newdow is an American attorney, emergency medicine physician, and pro atheist activist. He is best known for his efforts to have reform in the schools to remove the phrase ‘Under God’ from the pledge of allegiance. He has also fought the Bush and Obama administrations in court in order to remove the words God and other religions references in their inaugural speeches, but was proved unsuccessful. Newdow is an atheist and has been ordained at the Universal Life Church, an organization that believes we are all children of the same earth and to embrace each other’s different views and beliefs. Newdow started an organization called FACTS, or First Atheist Church of True Science.
