Mark Andrew Consuelos
Mark Andrew Consuelos is an American actor of Italian and Mexican descent. His first major acting role was that of Mateo Santos on ABC’s television soap opera, All My Children. It was there that he met and married his on-screen love interest, Kelly Ripa.
In this role, Consuelos earned multiple nominations, winning four awards for his performance, including Soap Opera Digest’s Outstanding Younger Lead Actor, and Hottest Romance award, the latter which he shared with his spouse and co-star, Kelly Ripa.
In 2008, Consuelos sought ordination through ULC so that he could officiate the wedding of friends Howard Stern and Beth Ostrosky. After his long stint on All My Children, he continued to make guest appearances on shows like Friends, Road Rules, and American Family, before he landed the role as Antonio Cortez in the Canadian crime-drama, 1-800-Missing; he starred alongside Vivica A. Fox in the television series, with his performance earning him a Imagen Foundation Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actor in Television.
In 2005, in his role as Gary “The Gooch” Gucharez, Consuelos was able to act alongside his wife once again, on the show Hope and Faith. He has since added television host to his list of accomplishments, as host of two dating reality shows, Age of Love and Science of Love, which both aired on NBC. His career has been one success after another, with guest starring roles on American Horror Story: Asylum, and Alpha House, the Amazon Studios political satire.
Consuelos has made notable appearances on shows like Queen of the South, and Pitch, before landing the role of Hiram Lodge on The CW’s Riverdale, a supernatural mystery-drama television series. Apart from his successful TV roles, he has also been featured in films like My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Wedding Daze and For the Love of Grace.
