Cardi B
Cardi B is a chart-topping rapper, former reality TV star, and ordained minister with the Universal Life Church.
A critical darling for her quick flow, catchy beats, and controversial lyrics, Cardi B is one of the most successful rappers of her generation. Cardi B comes from humble beginnings growing up in Washington Heights, Manhattan, but soon gained internet popularity in her teens and early 20s on platforms like Vine and Instagram. That led to a breakout role on season 6 of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York.
Even before the release of her debut album, Cardi B was a star. In 2017 she released her debut single, Bodak Yellow, to enormous acclaim. The single stayed at the top of the charts all summer, was selected as the song of the year by several outlets, and even earn her nominations for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the Grammy's.
Even though she was on top of the music world, it was only up from there. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, released the following year, and it broke pretty much every streaming record an album can break, including the most single-week streams of any female artist ever.
In 2020 she released yet another chart-topper, WAP, the debut song from her forthcoming, hotly anticipated second album.
From one three letter acronym to another, Cardi B is also an ordained minister with the ULC! Considering her success in music, we’re certain that any weddings she officiates will be just as lit. She performed one wedding on her Facebook show "Cardi Tries" and recently pledged to perform another for actor Kal Penn!
